The winger began his career with Romanian club Universitatea Craiova, later also turning out for some high-profile teams like Universitatea Cluj and Dinamo Bukarest. Firtulescu then represented clubs from Cyprus, Hungary and most recently, Bulgaria. He played 15 times for top tier outfit, FC Dunav 2010 Ruse in the 2018-19 season, scoring three goals and providing four assists. Currently on his first venture outside Europe, the Romanian will look to prove his worth in the Chennaiyin jersey.
