The Brazilian midfielder kickstarted his career in his hometown club, Fluminense. He was loaned out to as many as seven clubs in his professional career, which also included Chennaiyin FC in Hero ISL 2015. Before his success in the Hero ISL, he had won the Polish league with Legia Warsaw. He won the Hero ISL 2015 title with Chennaiyin in his very first season and was the club’s most creative player in the next campaign. The 2017-18 season saw him play a pivotal role yet again as Chennaiyin won their second Hero ISL crown and Augusto picked up his second winner’s medal. The Brazilian ace, however, struggled to replicate his influence in a struggling side last season. Having moved to the Chennaiyin’s rivals Bengaluru for Hero ISL 2019-20, Augusto will be eager to establish himself as a fan-favourite amongst the Blues’ fans.
