Rohit Kumar made his senior debut for DSK Shivajians in the Durand Cup in 2016 and scored his first goal nine minutes into his senior debut. He followed it up with three goals in his next two matches for the club before joining FC Pune City in 2017. He scored his maiden Hero ISL goal against ATK FC in his second game for the Stallions; scoring once more against the same opponents in the reverse fixture. After an underwhelming Hero ISL 2018-19, Rohit joined Hyderabad FC and scored one goal in nine games for the club in 2019-20. Ahead of Hero ISL 2020-21, Rohit made the move to Kerala Blasters FC and featured in 11 games for them after which he joined Bengaluru FC in June 2021.
