Born in Barcelona, Catalonia, Andrea Orlandi started his career with Alaves B and was later promoted to the senior side. He was loaned to FC Barcelona, where he made his La Liga debut in a 3-1 defeat to Athletic Bilbao. In 2007, Orlandi signed for Swansea City, helping the club in getting promotion to the Premier League for the first time. He played three games in the Premier League and also scored. His last stint before signing for Chennaiyin FC came in Serie B for Novara.
