Mumbai City FC midfielder Vinit Rai has taken part in a strong number of the team's Indian Super League matches in 2023/2024, making 23 appearances overall and playing 629 minutes. He has been selected in the starting XI in seven of these appearances across their 21 fixtures and been mostly used off the bench on 16 occasions. The last Indian Super League game that Rai played came on April 1 for Mumbai City FC versus Hyderabad FC; a game that he played just one minute in during a 3-0 success. He has been booked three times. In last season's Indian Super League, Rai featured in 11 games for Mumbai City FC and scored two goals. Rai joined Mumbai City FC on loan in January 2022 from Odisha FC, for whom he made 107 league appearances in total, scoring two goals and providing one assist. He moved to Mumbai City FC on a permanent basis in July 2023.
