Vinit Rai is a Mumbai City FC midfielder who has taken part in a strong number of the team's Indian Super League games in 2023/2024, making 24 appearances overall and playing 641 minutes. He has been selected in the starting XI in seven of these appearances across their 24 fixtures and been predominantly used off the bench on 17 occasions. Rai last featured in a league game on May 4, playing 12 minutes for Mumbai City FC against Mohun Bagan Super Giant in a 3-1 success. He has been booked three times. Rai played 11 Indian Super League games last season for Mumbai City FC and scored two goals. Rai joined Mumbai City FC on loan in January 2022 from Odisha FC, for whom he made 107 league appearances in total, scoring two goals and providing one assist. He switched to Mumbai City FC on a permanent basis in July 2023.
