Shankar Sampingiraj, the Bengaluru FC defender, has not played in a great number of the team's Indian Super League games in 2023/2024, making seven appearances overall and accumulating 448 minutes of playing time. He has been selected in the starting XI in four of these appearances across their 22 fixtures and entered as a substitute on three occasions. Sampingiraj last made an appearance in an Indian Super League game on April 7, playing 90 minutes for Bengaluru FC versus East Bengal FC in a 2-1 loss. He has been booked three times. In last season's I-League, Sampingiraj appeared in four games for Punjab FC. Sampingiraj joined Bengaluru FC in July 2023 from Punjab FC, for whom he made 19 league appearances in total.
