Bio
One of the most prominent names in Bangladeshi football, Maminul Islam Mamun rose through the ranks of Abahami Limited before joining Sheikh Jamal Dhanmodi Club in 2009. The diminutive midfielder, who can play as central midfielder or attacking midfielder, emerged as the leader of his club and country, both on and off the field. At the age of 25 he is already captain of the Bangladesh team and is regarded as the best player in the country. His impressive performances in the IFA Shield 2014 attracted interest from a host of foreign clubs. Atlético de Kolkata have now added him to their roster on a loan deal.
