Joni Kauko, the Mohun Bagan Super Giant midfielder, has appeared in 12 Indian Super League games in 2023/2024 since joining the club on 1st January 2024, being selected in the starting XI in 10 of these and coming on as a substitute on two occasions. The last Indian Super League game that Kauko played came on April 23 for Mohun Bagan Super Giant against Odisha FC; a meeting that he played 78 minutes in during a 2-1 defeat. The midfielder ranks joint eighth for assists this Indian Super League campaign having set up four goals for his team-mates. In addition, he has netted one goal. He has been booked twice. His opening goal of the campaign came in the 3-2 loss against Chennaiyin FC on March 31. Mohun Bagan Super Giant, who have points are in position in the standings, play host to Odisha FC on April 28 the next time the side are in Indian Super League action. In last season's Indian Super League, Kauko appeared in six games for Mohun Bagan Super Giant and scored two goals.
