Pratik Shinde is the youngest Indian to be offered a contract by a foreign club which happened at the age of 15. Now 19, he represents the American side Houston Hurricanes and has scored on nine occasions in 22 games. Earlier, he turned out for Galveston Pirates who are also based in Texas. He is known for his technical prowess and pace down the wings and the ability to cut into the middle. An alumnus of the Kenkre Academy of Mumbai, Shinde was spotted by former Pirates’ and current Hurricanes’ coach Brandon Keyes at the under-14 Gothia Cup in Sweden, where he became an instant hit after scoring against a German team.
