Israil Gurung
Midfielder
Bio
The diminutive Israil Gurung started his career at the Sports Authority of India and consequently moved to Delhi for his first professional stint with Hindustan FC where he blossomed under the encouraging care of Bernard Oparanozie, who later sent him to Clifford Chukwuma at Sporting Clube de Goa. Gurung, however, before long found a new home in the SESA Football Academy. Churchill Brothers soon came calling for the utility player who can play along both wings or in an attacking midfield role. He has gained a reputation as a super-sub who can come in and make decisive interventions or score critical goals. He has been part of the successful run of the Varca-based club. This will be his third season with FC Pune City for whom he has featured in 11 games with a goal to his name.
