Manish Bhargav was discovered at the Mahilpur Football Academy run by the Department of Sports, government of Punjab. To nurture his talents further, the Punjab lad was sent to the Mohun Bagan Academy for trials and taken on by their coaches in 2010. He duly graduated to the senior ranks of the mariners two years later. Versatility is one trademarks of this Lionel Messi fan as he is a central midfielder by calling but has developed into a fine right winger and playmaker. His fighting qualities and team spirit are evident on the pitch and he also has a good long shot. The movie buff, who adores Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, is also a proven goal scorer, and the one that he notched against arch rivals East Bengal in a 2012 Calcutta Football League derby is one of his most memorable moments.
