Clifford Miranda
Midfielder
Bio
After starting off with the Salcete FC U-16 team, a renowned nursery for young talents in south Goa, Miranda honed his skills at the Tata Football Academy for four years. Interestingly, he was the only TFA graduate from his batch who signed up for a second division club in 2000, Dempo, whom he helped to gain promotion in 2000-01.
There was no looking back thereafter for this Dempo loyalist and talented left winger back, whose mazy runs and pin point crosses made him a fan favourite. After making his international debut against Pakistan in 2004, he became a regular with the ‘Blue Tigers’ under Bob Houghton and developed into an attacking left half with the ability to dribble and deliver deadly crosses and also score goals. The experienced mid-fielder was an integral member of last year’s Hero ISL semi-finalist FC Goa.
