Born in Hoshiyarpur, Punjab, Karanjit Singh played for teams like JCT and Salgaonkar for a significant period before joining Chennaiyin FC ahead of Hero ISL 2015 and was at the club till 2019. It may be noted that post 2018-19, he was handed the dual role of player-cum-goalkeeping coach. Karanjit featured in both Hero ISL trophy-winning campaigns for Chennaiyin FC in 2015 and 2017-18. Then, Kerala Blasters FC roped in the custodian during the 2021-22 mid-season transfer window.
