Gennaro Bracigliano
Goalkeeper
Bio
Rising through the youth ranks at AS Nancy, Bracigliano made a memorable first-team debut as an 18-year-old, keeping a clean sheet against giants PSG. It would be a few years before he became a first-team regular, however, as he gained further experience in Nancy’s reserve teams as well as loan moves to other clubs in France.
He finally established himself as first-choice in the 2003-04 season, and the following year he helped Nancy win Ligue 2 and win promotion to the top flight. His career has since been affected by injury, and a move to French powerhouses Marseille has seen him in a back-up role to first-choice keeper Steve Mandanda.
The Frenchman established himself as the first choice custodian for last year’s semi-finalists, Chennaiyin FC, in Hero ISL 2014. He will be representing NorthEast United in 2015 as their goalkeeping coach/player.
