Matej Poplatnik became Kerala Blasters’ third foreign signing of the summer after Slavisa Stojanovic and Cyril Kali. Poplatnik arrives from Slovenian top-tier club Triglav Kranj, where he finished the 2017-18 season with 16 goals from 34 matches. He will be expected to lead the Kerala attack and with Kerala Blasters’ all-time top-scorer Iain Hume leaving to join the Stallions, it will be up to Poplatnik to fill the hole left by their key striker.
