Laldanmawia Ralte, popularly known as Danmawia, rose to prominence after helping Mizoram win their first-ever Santosh Trophy back in 2014. Danmawia's big break came when he signed for Aizawl FC in 2016. In his very first season with the club, Danmawia played a pivotal role in their historic Hero I-League triumph in the 2016-17 season. The Mizo winger signed for Hero I-League side East Bengal FC in 2017 and was one of the core players for the Red and Golds for two seasons. He scored eight goals in Hero I-League 2018-19, ending the season as the second-highest Indian goal-scorer behind teammate Jobby Justin. He played five matches for Hyderabad FC in the 2019-20 season and after just two the next season, he joined NorthEast United FC in September 2021.
