Chencho Gyeltshen joined Kerala Blasters FC ahead of the 2021-22 Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL). The 25-year-old, affectionately nicknamed the Cristiano Ronaldo of Bhutan because of his style of play, has played a lot of football in India in the past, including for 2018-19 Hero ISL champions Bengaluru FC. He appeared in nine games for the Blues that season and contributed two goals. Prior to that he also represented Minerva Punjab and played a big role in their winning the 2017-18 Hero I-League. He scored seven goals for the northern side. The Bhutanese international has also plied his trade for quite a few clubs in Thailand and Chittagong Abahani in Bangladesh.
