Bio
Frederic Piquionne was born in Noumea, New Caledonia, but shifted to Martinique to further his footballing aspirations. Before long he attracted the attention of French side Olympique Nimes. This was just the start of the journeyman’s career which encompassed spells at AS Monaco, Olympique Lyon, Portsmouth FC, and West Ham United amongst others. He has managed to play in the Champions League scoring twice in 6 matches for Lyon (notably against Fiorentina in a 2-2 draw. However his Ligue 1 record is impressive – 54 goals in 237 matches along with 18 assists with a peak of 11 goals in 37 matches for Saint-Etienne in 2004/05. Furthermore, he has represented France at the international level, coming on to play against Austria in a friendly in 2007.
