Bio
Anelka achieved the Premier League and FA Cup ‘double’ at both Arsenal (1997-98) and Chelsea (2009-10), and helped Real Madrid win the 1999-00 UEFA Champions League. He won the Serie A with Juventus in 2012-13 and the Süper Lig 2004–05 with Turkish side Fenerbache. Anelka has also won the PFA (the Professional Footballers’ Association in England) Young Player of the Year award in 1997-98 and the Premier League Golden Boot for Chelsea in 2008-09. He was in the Premier League’s Team of the Year in 1998-99 and repeated the feat ten seasons later. At the national level, Anelka represented the French national side on 68 occasions, finding the net 13 times. With ‘Les Bleus’ he has won the UEFA Euro 2000 tournament, and the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2001. The Frenchman managed 2 goals in 7 appearances for Mumbai last year. Looking ahead at Season 2, Anelka faces a fresh challenge as the marquee player and manager for Mumbai City FC.
