A Bosnia and Herzegovina-born Croatian footballer, Mato Grgic has spent almost all his time playing in his home country with a spell in the Hungarian league where he played for MTK Budapest. He arrived on Indian shores ahead of the Hero ISL 2018-19 season as he signed for the Highlanders and established a solid partnership at centre back with fellow countryman Mislav Komorski, helping the team to the semi-finals for the first time in the club’s history. He will turn up as an Islander in the 2019-20 season.
