Rafael Lopez Gomez, also known as Rafa, is a Spanish defender who started his youth career in Spain with Real Valladolid. He climbed through the ranks at Valladolid, playing for their B team and then going on to play for their senior squad. He was loaned to SD Eibar in 2005. In 2008, he moved to the Spanish side Getafe, making 122 appearances for them before returning to Real Valladolid in 2016. He signed for FC Pune City for Hero ISL 2017-18 and was a mainstay in the team which reached the semi-finals of the competition. After a brief spell back home with CF Rayo Majadahonda, the experienced defender returns to India for Hero ISL 2019-20, donning the Hyderabad FC shirt.
