Edwin Vanspaul joined Chennai City FC in 2016 and went on to play a crucial role in their Hero I-League triumph in 2018-19. He joined Chennaiyin FC ahead of the 2019-20 season and made his debut in the Hero ISL. The Marina Machans went on to play the final that season and Edwin did play his part to a tee. Edwin showed his versatility as he switched from a fullback role to a midfield role seamlessly. He continued plying his trade for Chennaiyin FC in the 2020-21 season.
