Laldinliana Renthlei began his career in the Mizoram Premier League with Chhinga Veng. Laldinliana also represented Mizoram in the Santosh Trophy in 2017. In December 2017, he helped Chhinga Veng become the 2017–18 MPL champions after they defeated Aizawl FC 1-0 in the final. After his performances in the MPL, he was signed on loan by Aizawl FC. He made his continental debut with Aizawl FC during their AFC Champions League qualifier match against Iranian side Zob Ahan Esfahan. Ahead of Hero ISL 2018-19, Laldinliana joined Chennaiyin FC on a free transfer from Chhinga Veng and made 11 appearances over the course of the campaign. The fullback added 11 more appearances to that tally during the 2019-20 season and established his place in the first team. After earning himself a runners-up medal with the Marina Machans, he moved to Jamshedpur FC and established himself as a regular in their backline, featuring in 15 matches for them in 2020-21.
