Born in Kabul, Saighani moved to Germany at a young age with his parents. After representing various second and third division German sides early in his career, he signed for Hero I-League outfit Aizawl FC in 2017. Bangladeshi side Abahani Dhaka were the last club the Afghanistan international played for before making the move to Chennaiyin. He has 13 international caps and is equally capable of operating in defence and midfield.
