Wayne Vaz joined FC Pune City from Chennai City FC ahead of the 2017-18 season but didn’t get any game time. A loan stint at Churchill Brothers followed and he featured heavily in the Hero I-League. Vaz got a second chance in the Hero ISL, this time with NorthEast United FC and made 10 appearances with the Highlanders in the 2019-20 season. However, he didn’t feature in any games in Hero ISL 2020-21 despite being part of the squad.
