Gustavo Lazzaretti
Defender
Bio
The addition of Brazilian centre-back Gustavo Lazzaretti to NorthEast United FC will bolster the Highlanders defence. After graduating from the youth set-up of J. Malucelli Futebol, Lazzaretti joined Premier League giants Chelsea in 2003. The 32-year-old returned to Brazil and joined Botafogo after his time in England. He was then loaned out to Italian club Udinese in the next season where he made just one senior appearance. It prompted him to move to Treviso where he enjoyed regular first team football. The next six years of his career was littered with short stints at various South American clubs as well as Al Sharjah SCC of the United Arab Emirates.
