Gerson Vieira or Gerson as he is popularly known is sure to bring an abundance of energy and freshen up the ATK backline. The 25-year-old defender began his footballing journey aged eight and graduated from Brazil's Gremio academy in 2012. Champion of Mediterranean International Cup held in Barcelona, Gerson has also been a winner of the South American under-15 and under-17 Championships. During the 2009 Sendai Cup in Japan, Gerson was declared the tournament's best player. His leadership qualities have also seen him being handed the captaincy for Brazil in the under-15 and under-17 age groups. He was rock solid in defence for the Mumbai City FC over the past two seasons and it was no surprise when ATK came calling for his services in the new season.
