Jose Goncalves is a Portuguese defender. After spending his youth career with Swiss giants FC Basel, he signed his first professional contract with FC Winterthur. In 2005, he joined the Italian side Venezia FC and later, played in different countries like Scotland with Heart of Midlothian, in Germany with 1.FC Nurnberg and in America with New England Revolution. He also represented Swiss teams FC St. Gallen, FC Sion and FC Thun and played for Lithuanian club FBK Kaunas. Goncalves has also represented his nation’s U-21 side and B side.
