Bio
Though primarily a defender, Herd is capable of operating as a centre back, a full back or a central midfielder, making him a versatile asset. The Australian is a product of the Aston Villa youth academy, having joined the club at the age of 15, and went on to make 36 appearances for the senior team. He also has a Premier League goal against Liverpool at Anfield. Herd, who has three caps for the Australian national team, has also played in the A-League with Western Sydney Wanderers. The defender will be a welcome addition to the Chennaiyin FC defence for the second half of the 2018-19 season.
