Carl McHugh has played in England with Reading FC, Plymouth Argyle and Bradford City. He was part of the Bradford team which defied all odds to reach the League Cup final back in 2012-13. It was the first time in over 51 years that a fourth-tier club in England played the prestigious cup final. He was a part of Scottish club Motherwell FC before joining ATK FC in 2019-20. After a successful season with the club, McHugh signed a one-year contract with ATK Mohun Bagan ahead of the 2020-21 Hero ISL season.
