Bio
Hailing from Punjab, Gurtej Singh was inspired to take up football at a very young age by his father. After plying his trade with Pailan Arrows (now Indian Arrows) and Churchill Brothers SC, Gurtej signed for Bengaluru FC in 2013 but was released two years later. He then joined Hero I-League second division side Fateh Hyderabad AFC and captained the team. FC Pune City roped him in during the 2017-18 draft and Gurtej didn’t disappoint. In his very first season with the Stallions, he formed one of the most formidable defensive partnerships in the league alongside Rafael Lopez. After the club shifted base to Hyderabad, Gurtej was a key part of his team in the 2019-20 season, making 13 appearances. He will look to play an important role in the 2010-21 Hero ISL season with SC East Bengal.
