Lal Chungnunga is an East Bengal FC defender who has played in the vast majority of the side's Indian Super League matches in 2023/2024, making 16 appearances overall and accumulating 1,233 minutes of playing time. He has been selected in the starting XI in 14 of these appearances across their 19 fixtures and entered as a substitute on two occasions. Chungnunga last featured in an Indian Super League game on March 10, playing 45 minutes for East Bengal FC against Mohun Bagan Super Giant in a 3-1 defeat. He has been booked four times. A trip to Kerala Blasters FC on April 3 is the side's next Indian Super League game for East Bengal FC, who have 18 points and are in 10th place. Chungnunga played 19 Indian Super League games last season for East Bengal FC. Chungnunga linked up with East Bengal FC on loan in August 2022 from Sreenidi Deccan, for whom he made 17 league appearances in total, scoring one goal and providing five assists.
