Impressive performances for Tollygunge Agragami in the National Football League helped Saumik Dey to prise open the gates to Kolkata giants East Bengal in 2005. This wiry and reliable defender has since been one of the longest serving members of the red & gold brigade and led the team to notable Federation Cup and Calcutta Football League triumphs in 2010. He is a consistent performer at left back and his versatility allows him to play as a centre back or as defensive midfielder when needed. Dey featured regularly for the Blasters last year and ended the Season with 10 appearances under his belt.
