Adil Khan started his professional career with Sporting Club de Goa back in 2008 and spent five years at the club. He was a part of Mohun Bagan AC in the 2013-14 Hero I-League and played for Delhi Dynamos FC in the inaugural Hero ISL season. However, he missed out on the Hero ISL 2015 and 2016 seasons after a series of injuries. Adil returned to the Hero ISL ahead of 2017-18 with FC Pune City and enjoyed two phenomenal seasons with the Stallions. He couldn’t replicate the same kind of success with Hyderabad FC and after one and a half seasons with them, he joined FC Goa on loan during the January transfer window of Hero ISL 2020-21. Later in the year he played in the AFC Champions League too. However, ahead of the 2021-22 Hero ISL he joined SC East Bengal, again on loan.
