FC Goa head coach Zico during the post-match press conference in Mumbai.FC Goa head coach Zico rued the missed chances and a chance to climb up the Hero Indian Super League standings after his side were held to a goalless draw by Mumbai City FC at the DY Patil Sports Stadium tonight. Both sides had their chances to trouble the score keeper but failed to take them.“I would have liked to see some goals and the game could have been drawn 2-2 or 3-3. It shows that both the teams played to win,” said Zico at the post match press conference. “I think the goalkeepers played really well. They saved numerous chances. As both teams had very good forwards, the defenders had to play well. It is not easy marking Robert Pirès, André Santos or Nicolas Anelka. I think the crowd that came today liked the game,” he added. The Brazilian gaffer was optimistic about his side’s chances of qualifying for the top four and stated that his side’s home games would now be crucial, “We still have hope because we have three matches at home. We will have to work really very hard to recover the points that we lost today. The important thing is that the team is reacting well to such results and I hope that we will be able to show the same in the next match,” Zico said. There was a hint of regret in the former World Cupper’s voice as he admitted that his side could have benefited from a win, “Of course, it would have been great if we had won the match today. We would have moved ahead of Mumbai,” he stated. When asked for his estimate about the minimum number of points needed to qualify for the top four, Zico quipped, “The way the tournament is going, I think a team needs at least 18 points to be in the top four.”
