The 25-year-old started his career with Ozone FC, representing the Bengaluru-based football club in I-League Second Division.
Dakshinamurthy made his way into the Indian Super League (ISL) when he signed for Mumbai City FC in 2018. In his five-year spell with the Islanders, he found the back of the net twice and was a part of Sergio Lobera’s double-winning side in ISL 2020-21, winning the ISL and the ISL Cup.
In 2023, the defender parted ways with the reigning ISL champions to sign for Hyderabad FC.
So far, he has made 59 appearances in the league creating 24 chances, succeeding 58 tackles, and clearing the ball 44 times.
Odisha FC head coach Sergio Lobera is delighted to reunite with Dakshinamurthy and believes him to be a perfect fit for the side.
"Vignesh is a player I know very well from my time at Mumbai City FC. He is a player with a profile that fits perfectly into our idea of the game. I am sure that he will help us a lot. I am very happy that he has joined us," shared Lobera, on the signing.
