Opening on January 1, the month-long winter transfer window has helped Hero Indian Super League (ISL) clubs manage the deficiencies within their squads ahead of the business-end of the season. While the likes of ATK and Chennaiyin FC have gone out and made significant inroads, most of the remaining teams have opted against making wholesome changes to their squads, relying instead on short-term deals.

Exploring further, we summarise all the completed and confirmed transfers from the teams in the Hero ISL this winter.

ATK

The two-time Hero ISL champions have been perhaps, the most-active team in the market this month, strengthening in both attack and defence. Former Bengaluru FC winger, Edu Garcia arrived from Chinese side Zhejiang Greentown FC to help bolster a misfiring attack which has scored only 10 goals so far this season. India right-back Pritam Kotal is another famous Hero ISL name who moved from Delhi Dynamos FC to ATK.

Amongst those leaving the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan are Shaik Faiz and Cavin Lobo, both of whom were loaned out, with the likes of Soraisham Sandeep Singh, Eli Babalj and Noussair El Maimouni released on a free-transfer.

Chennaiyin FC

Despite enduring a horrid time in the first-half of the campaign, Chennaiyin have still been able to attract top players after both Halicharan Narzary and CK Vineeth joined them on loan from rivals Kerala Blasters FC. Srinivasan Pandiyan, in turn, has been released on a short-term deal to make space for the new arrivals.

While their chances of reclaiming the league title are all but over, the duo will provide the much-needed attacking firepower for Chennaiyin as they gear up for the AFC Cup.

Delhi Dynamos FC

The Dynamos defence was dealt a serious blow after the departure of Kotal to ATK given their inability to keep clean-sheets in the first-half of the season. Moirangthem Jayananda Singh and Andrija Kaluderovic were released while Amit Tudu and Siam Hanghal left on loan to conclude the departures from the capital club this month.

On the bright side, Mexican midfielder Ulises Davila was signed for the remainder of the season. The 27-year-old is a proven star at the highest level having represented the likes of English Premier League club, Chelsea during his time in Europe.

FC Goa

Moroccan midfielder Zaid Krouch was the headline signing from the Gaurs this month. The 27-year-old who plays for Moroccan club Moghreb Tetouan will be seen wearing the Goa colours until the end of the season. Goalkeeper Naveen Kumar has arrived from the Blasters as part of a swap deal involving Lalthuammawia Ralte.

Kerala Blasters FC

As mentioned above, Vineeth and Narzary have left the Blasters, while Naveen Kumar has moved away on a permanent deal. Goalkeeper Lalthuammawia Ralte, who was a part of the swap deal involving Kumar, and Baoringdao Bodo are the only new-comers in the Blasters squad so far this window.

Mumbai City FC

Defender Shouvik Ghosh headlines the only movement within the Islanders squad in the winter window. The former Highlanders man returns to Guwahati after playing for them in the 2016-17 season.

NorthEast United FC

Ghosh’s arrival is one of two in Eelco Schattorie’s team with Panagiotis Triadis also arriving in the last month. The 26-year-old has been signed until the end of the season. Augustine Okrah was released in the only outgoing player from Guwahati so far this window.
