Friday's Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2019-20 match between Kerala Blasters FC and Odisha FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi, had a special guest in attendance. Former Germany international and Dortmund icon Patrick Owomoyela, who is in India for a Bundesliga promotional tour, was in the stands for the game and despite not getting to see any goals in the tightly-fought contest, was left impressed by what he witnessed, especially from the famed Kerala fans.

Sharing his thoughts about the match, the two-time Bundesliga winner said, "So my first Hero ISL match is in the books. It was a draw, but an exciting one! I was holding it for (supporting) Kerala Blasters. Unfortunately, no goals in this game but exciting fans. I saw some exciting moments. I really liked it."

Owomoyela, having played for Dortmund for five years, is no stranger to the 'Yellow Wall' - an experience he surely got to relive at Kochi on the night, with Kerala fans turning up in numbers for the contest. The 40-year-old, in fact, reserved a special mention for Kerala's famous Manjappada fan group. "There's something about the Manjappada fans. There is a very good atmosphere in the stadium."
