Hyderabad FC were impressive in their 3-1 win against Mumbai City FC in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL), as they came from behind to wrap it up late at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, Goa.

Registering their first win in the 2021-22 season, Hyderabad FC powered their way through the Mumbai-based side with goals coming in from Joao Victor, former Mumbai City FC striker Ogbeche, and youngster Rohit Danu.

Although content with the win, Hyderabad FC coach Manuel Marquez revealed it was a hard-fought victory, and applauded the players’ heroics on the pitch.

Following the coup, the Nizams’ head coach addressed the media in an official post-match press conference.

Here are the excerpts from the press conference:

How happy are you with your first win against Mumbai City FC?

We are very happy not because we haven’t won against Mumbai in the last four games but because they are the current champions. They have a very very good team. In the end, football at times is very strange, but I think that they won 3-0 the other day, and they scored very soon tonight. I don’t know, maybe that pushed us to score. We played very well for several minutes of the game. When we scored the second goal, Mumbai were attacking, but we defended heartily, and I think it was a deserved win for us.

Following last game’s loss, what has been the turnaround like coming into the match and getting a result like that?

Sometimes football is crazy. We didn’t deserve to lose against Chennai but today I am very satisfied with the team. Maybe we deserved the win but the game was more equal than 3-1 but this is football as you know it. We won against Mumbai City, one of the favaourites for the title. We have eighteen more games to look forward to now.

Bart [Bartholomew Ogbeche] and Rohit [Danu] made an impact in the game. What are your thoughts on Danu’s impact?

I think it’s like a father and son duo, Rohit is 19-years-old and Bart is 37-years-old. Everyone knows Bart, he’s scored goals for NorthEast, Kerala, and Mumbai, and now he’ll score goals for Hyderabad. As I’ve said before, Rohit will be one of the best Indian players in the future for sure.
