Mumbai City FC have gone ahead and made a new acquisition on Wednesday by roping in midfielder Surchandra Singh from Real Kashmir FC. Head coach Jorge Costa has recently made a number of young additions to an already talented squad, with the 25-year-old coming in to give him more options in the midfield.

Born and brought up in Manipur, Singh started his career in the Shillong-based club, Langsning FC who were playing in the Hero I-League second division. Thereafter, he signed for the now-defunct Hero I-League club, DSK Shivajians where he made 13 appearances in the 2015-16 season, before going on to represent Churchill Brothers in the 2016-17 season.

After playing for Mohun Bagan AC in 2017-18, he went on to join Real Kashmir FC for the 2018-19 season. He lived his most fruitful season here, as he went on to notch up 16 appearances while slotting home thrice.

Costa expects him to continue the same form in the 2019-20 edition of the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) and the youngster would be eagerly looking forward to repaying the faith shown on him by the Islanders management and head coach.
