Mumbai City FC striker Singam Subhash Singh was obviously elated after the hosts edged Kerala Blasters FC 1-0 via a stunning free kick taken by Nicolas Anelka. The Manipuri player told www.indiansuperleague.com that he was really excited about today’s result considering they had lost their previous two games.“We really feel good after winning this match 1-0. We will give our best to win the next match,” he promised in a post-match conversation.Asked to comment on the former French international striker’s match winning performance, Subhash replied, “He really played well, we really prospered with his presence in the box. He’s a quality player.”Subhash was happy that Mumbai City were able to keep a clean sheet, something that head coach Peter Reid had maintained was the need of the day. He attributed it to solid teamwork. “Yes, we defend as a team and we attack as a team, so we feel really proud,” he quipped. The diminutive but hardworking forward said today’s win will give the team confidence going into their next fixture at home against Delhi Dynamos FC on November 5. “We got a lot of confidence from this. After losing the last two games and winning 1-0 at home, any team will get confidence,” he concluded.
