Young midfielder Sheikh Sahil signed a three-year deal with ATK Mohun Bagan FC, the club announced on Monday. A product of Mohun Bagan’s youth academy, Sahil was a part of their triumphant Hero I-League campaign last season and he will now don the club’s famous green and maroon jersey in Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2020-21.

“It is an honour to be given the opportunity to represent my boyhood club and Kolkata in India’s top football competition. I am very excited to play for ATK Mohun Bagan FC,” Sahil said after signing the contract.

The young midfielder cemented his place in Mohun Bagan’s midfield last season under the tutelage of former head coach Kibu Vicuna, who is set to lead Kerala Blasters FC in the upcoming Hero ISL season. He played an integral role in Mohun Bagan’s I-League triumph last season and the youngster will be eager to make the most of his first season in the Hero ISL under head coach Antonio Lopez Habas.

Sahil follows the likes of Roy Krishna, Prabir Das, Pritam Kotal, Jobby Justin and Edu Garcia in signing for ATK Mohun Bagan ahead of the upcoming Hero ISL season.
