Chennaiyin FC centre-back Mikaël Silvestre said that tactical adjustments made for the game against Mumbai City FC today worked to a tee and helped them bounce back after their big defeat in Delhi a few days earlier.Speaking to indiansuperleague.com after his side crushed the visitors 5-1, the former French international said, “We had to respond to our defeat in Delhi, we had some tactical adjustments, the game plan worked perfectly and it was a pitch where we could develop our football from the back.”Silvestre said that the team played a lot of long balls and they had the strikers to cope with them like Jeje (Lalpekhlua), (John Stiven) Mendoza and Balwant (Singh) who wasn’t able to feature today. “But that’s going to be our strength this season and we will rely on it,” he quipped.Asked where the game was won and lost, the former Manchester United and Arsenal star replied, “I think physically we played much better, everybody was involved more compared to the game in Delhi so it’s important for us to get a good record at home.”So what’s the road ahead for Chennaiyin FC? “We’ll have a good week’s rest, get enough time to treat some injuries, get everybody on their feet, recover and get three points against a good Kolkata team,” he stated.
