Sandesh Jhingan has been one of the most consistent players of the Hero Indian Super League, having won the Player of the Week award on one occasion as well as several match awards. Jhingan made a number of tackles against Chennaiyin FC, including a superb last-ditch tackle to deny Jayesh Rane a clear shot at goal. The Punjab-born defender has played 11 out of Kerala Blasters' 12 games, with one assist to his name. The 21-year-old is also one of the highest tacklers in the ISL, currently at fourth position with 36 tackles to his credit.Despite another great performance from Jhingan, Kerala slumped to a 1-0 defeat at home against the league leaders. “It’s a bad feeling, I thought we played alright. We have another two games and now we have to play those two games and get the six points that we need,” said Jhingan as he spoke to indiansuperleague.com in a post-match interview.“We still have a chance, especially in the next two games, we have to play good and win. We cannot be negative and let this bad result affect us. We have to be positive; it’s not over yet. We have more points to grab,” said an enthusiastic Jhingan as his team are currently placed fourth on the table. “Of course, it is a bad feeling, and losing at home is not good, but that is football. You win some, you lose some. All we can do is stay positive and play better next time.”
