The Reliance Foundation School’s football team, composed almost entirely of the Reliance Foundation Young Champs Scholars have advanced to the State rounds of the Subroto Cup after progressing through multiple rounds of competition in this national level school tournament.In the Navi Mumbai rounds, they beat New Horizon Airoli 5-0; St. Lawrence, Vashi 4-0; North Point 3-0 and St. Xaviers, Airoli 5-0.In the Thane Round, they beat St. Augustine’s, Vasai 8-0 and St. Paul’s, Thane 7-0 .In the Division round, they beat St. Joseph, Raigad 10-0 and in the final of the division round, they beat St. Stanislaus, Bandra 2-1 on penalties after a 0-0 draw at full time.They will next play the state round against the best teams from across Maharashtra and should they win the state round, they will represent Maharashtra at the national finals in Delhi.
