Indian Super League (ISL) club Punjab FC, on Friday, announced the departure of Filip Mrzljak. The Croatian midfielder joined the Shers at the start of the 2024-25 season and emerged as a key figure in Panagiotis Dilmperis' system.

Despite missing a couple of games midseason and a few towards the end of the ISL campaign due to injury, Mrzljak caught the eye with his dynamic passing range, tactical awareness, and excellent ability to receive and distribute the ball under pressure.

Mrzljak featured in 17 ISL games, clocking 1,033 minutes on the field. He played a commanding role in PFC's midfield corridor, averaging 17 passes per game at a 76% success rate.

Mrzljak had a well-rounded campaign with the Shers, contributing both offensively and defensively. Along with his impressive offensive numbers — six goal contributions and 21 chances created — Mrzljak also played a pivotal role in the defensive half, registering 42 duels, 40 recoveries, eight clearances, and four interceptions.
