The Mumbai-born player started playing football while in school and impressed at the youth levels, earning himself a place in the AIFF Regional Academy in Goa. He represented India in U-17 and U-20 age groups and secured a move to the now-defunct DSK Shivajians.
The Gaurs signed him up ahead of the 2017-18 campaign but the youngster failed to make any Hero ISL appearance. His professional debut, however, came soon after as he played in the Hero Super Cup 2018 semi-finals against East Bengal.
The following season, Ranawade signed for Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan and helped them win the Calcutta Football League. He also made four appearances for the Mariners in Hero I-League 2018-19.
Capable of playing both as a centre-back and a right back, Ranawade may help provide cover to Sergio Lobera's backline in the coming season.
