Two-time Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) champion Pritam Kotal has signed a two-year deal with ATK Mohun Bagan FC, the club announced on Wednesday. Kotal was an integral part of the erstwhile ATK FC setup and played for them over two separate stints.

"It is a delight for me to sign for ATK Mohun Bagan FC. I have played and won with both clubs, so this is special for me. My aim is to give my everything to the team and to win trophies for the fans," Kotal said after putting pen to paper.

The versatile defender began his career in the Hero ISL with FC Pune City in 2014 before joining ATK FC and winning the coveted Hero ISL trophy with them in 2016. He made 12 appearances for ATK in their title-winning campaign that year before moving to Delhi Dynamos FC and impressing with the side from the national capital during the 2017-18 season, scoring one goal and providing two assists.

The 26-year-old Indian international made the move back to his home state by joining ATK during the January transfer window in the 2018-19 season. He played an important role in Antonio Lopez Habas’ backline last campaign as ATK went on to win the Hero ISL for a record third time. Kotal was a leader at the back and played every minute for the champions last season, scoring one goal while making 149 clearances, 71 tackles, 36 blocks and 34 interceptions.
