Hyderabad FC earned a hard-fought draw against ATK FC in the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2019-20 at the GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday. Hyderabad never let their opponents settle throughout the game, with two goals from Bobo seemingly sealing the win. However, a mistake from goalkeeper Kamaljit Singh allowed Roy Krishna to equalise in injury-time and gain a point for ATK.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, head coach Phil Brown gave his opinion on the draw, “It was a very interesting scenario that we found ourselves in towards the end of the game. When ATK scored the first goal, I thought it was harsh. But I think that we are not getting the luck that we deserve. Having won just a single game this season, it’s difficult to get that winning habit. It takes a lot of work, energy and mentality.”

“We were so close to getting off the bottom of the table but that one mistake made all the difference. We showed a lot of team spirit against an ATK side who humiliated us a couple of months ago and this is important. We will keep on working hard and hopefully, we can turn the result around quickly,” he added.

The Englishman also spoke about the advantage of having Bobo, Nestor Benitez and Marcelo Pereira all back from injury, “I always believed that Bobo, Marcelo and Nestor are all very good creators. Now, with Bobo also scoring, we have four goals for two games. We have to tie down the clean sheets along with the goals and create a winning formula.”

The 60-year-old then went on to give his views on their next match against Mumbai City FC, “The feeling of winning hasn’t been with us and to get that back it takes a lot of hard work. We need to win the game against Mumbai and once we win a game, we can win two, three more. We need to see if that takes us to a winning formula in the second half of the season.”
